Sustaining Practice & Self-Producing 2022-23

This free, group series of exchanges facilitated by Claricia and Al Seed of Waypoint-1 ran for 10 weeks over winter 2022-23, focussed on developing skills in self-producing, especially in the context of solo work as well as space to think more deeply and critically together about practice, process, and how we work collaboratively.

Sustaining & nurturing practice:

  • growing and nurturing solo creative practice: values, what/how/when/where/why

  • developing & managing collaborations

  • embedding core ethics including anti-racist values & actions in practice and producing

  • navigating challenges and prioritising health & wellbeing

 Self producing:

  • key skills including: planning, budgeting, fundraising, project management and marketing

  • considering audience experience & access; identifying & developing audiences for one’s work; meaningful approaches to engagement

  • engaging & prepping designers and production teams

  • venue liaison

  • building networks and public profile
